Mark T. Donahoe
Managing Partner & co-founder

Mark T. Donahoe is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Monitor Finance and a co-founder and owner of Elevate Property Management. He is a seasoned financial markets professional, with extensive experience in real estate, equity and debt transactions. Prior to co-founding Monitor Finance and Elevate, Donahoe was a senior executive with Piper Jaffray, where his career spanned from 1982 to 2006. He served on the firms operating committee and held positions including Senior Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading. He also had overall responsibility for the company’s equity execution services businesses, including the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq trading, algorithmic and program trading, as well as convertible sales and trading.

Donahoe has held numerous positions in associations related to the securities industry. He is a past president of the Minnesota Securities Dealers Association (MSDA) as well as a former board member of the Business Economic Education Foundation (BEEF). From 1995 to 1998, he was a trustee for the Securities Industry Foundation for Economic Education (SIFFEE). Donahoe was frequently quoted as a markets expert in national print and broadcast outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, CNN and CNBC.

He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and served on the Finance Committee at Groves Academy, and was a member of the Corporate Sponsors Board for the Pacer Foundation. Since 1997, Donahoe has owned and managed a private real estate portfolio in western Canada.

Brad F. England
Managing Partner & co-founder

Brad F. England is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Monitor Finance and a co-founder and owner of Elevate Property Management. He is a seasoned financial markets professional, with extensive experience in real estate, equity, advisory and debt transactions. Prior to co-founding Monitor Finance and Elevate, he was a senior executive with Piper Jaffray & Co., holding positions including Head of Investment Banking and Head of Capital Markets.

Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, England spent fifteen years with Merrill Lynch & Co. and was a senior member of its Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets divisions. While at Merrill Lynch, he held positions including Head of Technology Origination, based in Palo Alto; Head of Equity Capital Markets and Head of European Corporate Finance, both based in London; and regional Head of Corporate Finance, based in Chicago. He also spent eight years with General Mills Inc. in Minneapolis. During the 2006/07 and 2007/08 academic years, England was the Distinguished Visiting Professor of Finance at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He is an active board member of The American School in London (ASL) Foundation. Past affiliations include board member of the Minnesota Opera, board member and head of the capital campaign for The American School in London, member of The American Friends of the Verbier Festival & Academy, board member of The Ravinia Festival, President and founding member of The Ravinia Associates, advisory member of CYCLE, founding member of the Winnetka Public Schools Foundation, and chair of Macalester College’s Karl Egge Professorship in Economics endowment campaign.

Daren C. Marhula, CFA
Managing Partner & co-founder

Daren C. Marhula is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Monitor Finance and a co-founder and owner of Elevate Property Management. He is a seasoned financial markets professional with extensive experience in real estate, equity, and debt transactions. He has a strong background managing commercial real estate investments, performing financial analysis, and property management. Marhula has been an active owner, investor, and manager of multi-family properties since 2001.

Prior to founding Monitor Finance and Elevate, Marhula was a Wall Street sell-side research analyst for ten years covering the healthcare services and technology industries. He was a Principal and Senior Research Analyst at Piper Jaffray, and prior to that with Wessels, Arnold & Henderson (now RBC Capital Markets). In 2000, he was named Best Stock Picker in the healthcare services sector by The Street, with a portfolio return of 217%.

Chris G. Palm
Managing Partner

Christopher G. Palm is a Partner at Monitor Finance and a co-founder and owner of Elevate Property Management. He has a strong background in real estate, finance, financial management, and property management. Prior to joining Monitor Finance and co-founding Elevate, Palm spent a year at Grenzebach Glier & Associates in Chicago. He also spent four years at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis, where he worked closely with investment banking, equity sales, trading, research, and corporate clients.

Palm holds a B.A. in Economics from Macalester College. He was the recipient of the Mike McEwen Prize in Economics awarded to an outstanding scholar-athlete, was named both Athlete and Scholar-Athlete of the year, and was a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society in Economics.

Peter M. Thomas
President, Long View Capital

Peter M. Thomas currently serves as the President of Long View Capital, LLC. Long View Capital oversees real estate, debt, equity, and private equity investments. He has been managing a private family investment office since 2002. Prior to that, Thomas was an Investment Advisor for Smith Barney where he worked for four years. Before joining Smith Barney, Thomas was an Account Executive for CBS Television in its national sales division.
